Answer #1

With regard to the train operations, the term "Dwell time" may be referred as time taken by the train when it stops at the station without any movement. In general this time is used mainly boarding and deboarding of passengers. Sometimes,if signal is not cleared then Dwell time may be increased as well as headways increases.

In case of Metro train stopping at station, the Dwell time is reduced by providing more numbers of gate. The width of the gate is aso increased than high speed rail train. Apart from this, some other factor may vary the duration of Dwell time. So it may be conclude that Dwell time for a high speed Rail (HSR) train stopping at a station likely to be longer than Metro train stopping at a station assuming that both trains are of comparable length.
