9. Why is it necessary to place pumps and turbines in a water transmission system?

Subject: Hydraulics

Answer #1

Pumps and Turbines are required to convert the one form of energy into another.

Pumps convert the electrical energy to hudraullic energy and Turbines convert the hydraullic energy into electrical energy..

In the water transmission system we need energy transformations. Sometimes we need to make use of hydraullic energy of water to make electrical currents and hence use of turbine, Sometimes we need to create head to take the water from lower reaches to higher ones and for that purpose pumps are used which uses electrical energy and imparts hydraullic energy to water to make it possible.

This is the necessity of pumps and turbines in water transmission system.

Explain why it is necessary to quench the reaction (add hot water) at the end of the aspirin experiment. Please include a reaction scheme in your answer. - for this question I'm guessing one would quench as to not crash the aspirin out of solution as a precipitate. But I dont know how I would draw this reaction scheme. Thank you in advance
