Homework Answers

Answer #1

Precast concrete systems have several applications at airports. Some of these include control towers, parking structures, terminals, ramps, tarmacs, pavements and runways, ancillary structures and more. The main advantage with the precast concrete is it saves lot of time in construction and curing. Moreover as they are constructed in controlled conditions quality conditions a better performance is expected.

Cast in place concrete is used for slabs, flooring, it is also used for substructure construction for example cast in place poles are constructed at the site itself because for non Sandy soils it is not advised to use prexasp piles as they create lot of pore water pressure. Moreover heavy beams, columns , and sort of heavy component of the building is constructed by cast in place concrete
