Slope deflection method is a displacement method, slope deflection method is extensively used in the analysis of structures after the invention of computers because of the following reasons.

1)This method takes into account only the bending deformations.

2)This method gives an understanding of stiffness matrix method which is the basis for most of the computer softwares currently used for structural analysis

3)The unknowns to be calculated can be easily put into a matrix form and this matrix can be easily solved for the unknown displacements and rotations by allowing a software program to run with less complexities,hence easing the calculation and process
