● The statutory determination period for validated planning applications is known asplanning timescale.

The timescale for local planning authorities should not exceed :-

​​​​​​1) 8 weeks for straight forward planning,

2) 13 weeks for unusually large or complex planning,

3) 16 weeks if the application is subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

● So beacuse of construction in significant railway projects is comes under the large and complex planning so the planning timescale is 13 weeks for it.
