The total quantity required for painting a square shaped room is 30 m2. The height of the room is ‘H’ m. If the width of the room is 0.83 H, calculate the following:
1. Size of the room
2. Ceiling painting required for the room
3. Skirting for the room

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Area of painting required =Total area of room=30 m^2

Area of floor and ceiling=(2*0.83H*0.83H)=1.3778H^2.

Area of 4 walls=4*H*0.83H=3.32H^2.

Total area of room=Area of floor & ceiling + Area of 4 walls=(1.3778+3.32)H^2=4.6978H^2.

4.6978H^2=30m^2

H=2.53 m.

0.83 H=0.83*2.53=2.1 m

1.Size of room=Length*Width*Height=L*W*H=0.83H*0.83H*H=2.1m*2.1m*2.53m

2. Ceiling paint required for room=Area of ceiling=2.1*2.1=4.4 m^2

3.Skirting for the room=2*(L+W)=2*(2.1+2.1)=8.4 m.
