Alternatives are usually of two types: mutually exclusive and independent. Explain the meaning of mutually exclusive alternatives.
Mutually exclusive :- Mutually exclusive events are the events when the two events donot occur at the same time or they both can't happen at the same time. It is also called as disjoint set.
Example- when we toss a coin, it will come either head or tail, i.e it doesnot show both head or tail at the same time.
Independent : Independent events are the events when the two events cannot affect on each other occurence, i.e the both two events occur independently.
Example, when we coss two coins, in first coin if it comes head ( or tail) it doesnot mean in the second coin it comes head, it can come tail also. The result of two events not depend or not affect on each other.
