Question:Consider the S~Q relation is nonlinear, S = kQm. Would you expect an increase or decrease or no change in the peak flow of the outflow hydrograph with an increase in the value of m, keeping k the same?

Answer: Given S and Q relation is non linear.

S=kQm

where S is catchment storage in m3 , k is a storage delay parameter, Q is the rate of outflow in m3 /s and m is a non-linearity parameter

Since K is constant and having Q as constant since it is non ,inear,

S will be directly proportional to m,so with increase in the value of m S value increases
