A 9 x 9 sq. inch color photograph was scanned in color at 600dpi.

a. How many Megabytes of memory will be required to store the color image assuming that the image is saved as unsigned 8-bit format (i.e. each pixel takes 1 byte of storage space)?

b. If the 600 dpi image is transmitted over the Network using a modem which transmits at a rate of 24 Mb/sec., how long will it take to transmit the image, assuming that no other transmissions are being done on the network? Note (1Mb = 1 Megabit)
