What is the molarity of C12H22O11 solution that contains 5.0g of C12H22O11 in 200.0mL of solution?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans :-

Given mass of  C12H22O11 = 5.0 g

Gram molar mass of  C12H22O11 = 342.2965 g/mol

Because, Number of moles = Mass in g / Gram molar mass

Therefore,

Number of moles of  C12H22O11 = 5.0 g / 342.2965 g/mol = 0.014607 mol

Given volume of solution = 200.0 mL = 0.200 L

Because,

Molarity = Number of moles / Volume of solution in L

So,

Molarity of C12H22O11 = 0.014607 mol / 0.200 L = 0.073 M

Therefore,

Molarity of C12H22O11 = 0.073 M
