Question

When I measure the pH of water that contains bromine, I get a pH around 3.5....

When I measure the pH of water that contains bromine, I get a pH around 3.5.

But when I extract the bromine with ether and measure the pH of the aqueous solution, the pH of the water is 2.5.

How is this possible? I tried this with several ph meters.
