What is the best way to study for the Chemistry/Physics and Biology sections of the MCAT exam? I have been trying to study for them by memorizing the answers from my Kaplan study books and knowing what the content is but I am still doing poorly.
I also heard the MCAT is not a content based exam, please advise me step by step regarding what EXACTLY I should do to study for these sections properly and increase my score.
Thanks!
Both Kaplan and Princeton review books are helpful for preparing for MCAT exams. You should revise the content at least 3 times before practicing the questions. For verbal practice, you can buy verbal practice book by Next step. It is really helpful. You should make notes from the books. The topics which you are unaware of, you can take help of videos available on Khan academy on YouTube for free of cost. For chemistry, write the reaction with mechanisms. Make notes that in which reaction which intermediate formed and what reagents used in it. For biology make the shorter version of all pathways/organ systems within 2-3 pages so that you could compare.Start appearing for practice test by Princeton review and keep reviewing in which questions you are lagging behind and collect knowledge on it.and keep revising it. You are doing good. Do not give up. I wish you success.
