Calculate each of the following quantities in 2.40 moles H3PO4

moles of H =
moles of O =

atoms of P=

atoms of O

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Sol :- As, 1 mole of molecule = Atomicity of the atom in molecule x 6.022 x 1023 atoms

So,

(a). 1 mole of H3PO4 contains = 3 moles of H

So,

2.40 moles of H3PO4 contains = 2.40 x 3 moles of H

= 7.2 moles of H

-----------------

(b). 1 mole of H3PO4 contains = 4 moles of O

So,

2.40 moles of H3PO4 contains = 2.40 x 4 moles of O

= 9.6 moles of O

------------------

(c). 1 mole of H3PO4 contains = 1 x 6.022 x 1023 atoms of P

So,

2.40 moles of H3PO4 contains = 2.40 x 1 x 6.022 x 1023 atoms of P

= 1.45 x 1024 atoms of P

------------------

d). 1 mole of H3PO4 contains = 4 x 6.022 x 1023 atoms of O

So,

2.40 moles of H3PO4 contains = 4 x 2.40 x 6.022 x 1023 atoms of O

= 5.78 x 1024 atoms of O
