How to find molecular formulas
Molecular formula is the symbolic representation of a molecule of any substance describing the actual number of atom in it is called its molecular formula.
It gives the name and actual number of atoms of the various elements present in molecule of substance.
Molecular formula = n x Empirical formula
where n = ( molecular formula mass /Empirical formula mass )
for ex benzene
Empirical formula is CH, Molecular formula mass = 78 and Empirical formula mass = 13
n =78/13 =6
Moleculr formula = n x Empirical formula = 6x CH =C6H6
