. A new atomic absorption technique is being developed for the analysis of calcium in ore samples. To test the accuracy of the method, an analyst determined the calcium content of a NIST SRM ore that is known to contain 33.2% Ca. The results of the analysis were 34.2%, 33.4%, 35.8%, 34.9%, 36.0% Ca. Do you have any evidence (at 95% CL) to think that the method might be inaccurate?
If we try to observe the results, i.e theoretically the ore has 33.2% calcium and experimentally it is 34.2% , 33.4% etc. There error in measurement is very less. For 1st measurement error is 3% (% error = ((Experimental value - theoretical value)/ theoretical value) X 100). Similarly we can calculate the error for all the measurements and when we will try to find the average it is less than 5% which is the experimental error limit. So one could say technique is accurate upto 95%.
