given

15 g of iron

so

moles of iron =15 / 55.845

moles of iron = 0.2686

so

acutal yield of iron is 0.2686 moles


the reaction is given by

Fe203 + 3C --> 2Fe + 3CO

from the above reaction

we can see that

theoretical moles of Fe produced = 2 x moles of Fe203 reacted

so

theoretical moles of Fe produced = 2 x 0.239

theoretical moles of Fe produced = 0.478


we know that


percent yield = ( actual yield / theoretical yield ) x 100

so

percent yield = ( 0.2686 / 0.478 ) x 100

percent yield = 56.19

so

the percent yield is 56.19 %
