Volume of solution = V = 1.5L

Molar mass of NaOH = M.w = 40 g/mole

Molarity = number of moles NaOH/volume

Number of moles = Molarity xVolume

                           = 2.5 x 1.5 = 3.75 moles

Number moles of NaOH = 3.75 moles

Number of moles = Mass/molar mass

Mass= Number of moles x molar mass

Mass = 3.75 x 40 = 150 grams

Mass of NaOH required = 150 grams.
