Triple bonds in alkynes are less reactive than double bonds in
alkenes.
A triple bond consists of 1 sigma and 2 pi bonds, whereas a
double bond consists of 1 sigma and 1 pi bond each.
Alkenes and alkynes are nucleophilic centers.Hence attracts
electrophiles(Oxidation is the loss of electrons.)
Due to the compact electron cloud around C-C bond in
alkynes compared to alkenes, the attack of electrophiles
is less favorable.Hence alkene is more reactive compared to
alkynes.
