Ans. CHAPMAN CYCLE

Earth's atmosphere is covered with a thin layer of troposphere followed bya layer of stratosphere where short wavelength ,high energy radiation i.e UV light from the sun strikes an O2 molecule and dissociates it into Oxygen atoms (as shown in the image below) .These oxygen atoms may combine with an O2 molecule and form an O3 molecule which has excess energy .If it is not able to get rid of the excess energy , it disintegrates into O2 molecule and an O atom.
