What is the objective for the lab on determining the mole ratios in a chemical reaction?

What is the objective for the lab on determining the mole ratios in a chemical reaction?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Typicaly, we want to relate moles of a species inside a species

For instance --> hydrated salt --> x mol of salt per y mol of water

therefore, we calculate moles of salt /anhydrous) and moles of water ( evaporated after heating)

then

mol of water / mol of salt --> typically 1,2,3, ratios... since water will hydrate salts this way

Also,

if this is about a reaction

we want to relate

aA + bB = cC + dD

a vs. b from c and d

in order to understant the sotichiometry of reaction
