How do you think the conductivity of equimolar solutions of sodium chloride, calcium chloride, and iron(III) chloride compare? Why?
conductivity is depends on number of ions .
i = number of ions .
for NaCl : NaCl -------------> Na+ + Cl-
i = 2
CaCl2 --------------> Ca2+ + 2 Cl-
i = 3
FeCl3 ---------------> Fe3+ + 3 Cl-
i = 4
for NaCl : i = 2 . so NaCl has less conductivity .
for FeCl3 : i = 4 . so FeCl3 has more conductivity .
number of ions increases , then conductivity also increases .
conductivity order : NaCl < CaCl2 < FeCl3
