A.)What is the sensitivity (in cm/mL) of a buret that has an inner diamerter of 0.600 cm?

B.)What is the maximum volume marking (to the nearest mL) if the linear lenght of the buret in part A is 50 cm?

Anwser both parts of the question and explain for full points

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Part A:

Diameter of burette=0.60 cm

Area of burette=?d2/4=3.14*0.602/4=0.2827 cm2

Sensitivity of burette=1/Area of burette=1/0.2827

                                =3.537 cm/ml

Part B:

Maximum volume of marking=Length of burette/Sensitivity of burette

=50/3.537=14 ml [Rounding to nearest ml]

Assuming a molar absorptivity of 50,000 (Liters/mol cm) calculate what molarity you would need to get an absorbance of 1.0, using Beers Law. A =ε c l, where A is the absorbance; ε is the molar absorptivity in L/mol cm; c is the concentration in mol/liter; and l is the path length in cm, which, in our case, is 1.00 cm. Algebraically rearranging gives c = A/ε l =A/ε. B) Start with 20 mg of your dye. Calculate what morality...
