there are different types of hot packs which are broadly classified based on the type of material being used in the hot packs. Generally, Hot water packs, Electric pads and Chemical based hot packs are in use. Of the above three, Chemical based hot packs are largely used by athlets to control swelling. It is very important to know the thermal nature of the chemical used in the manufacture of hot pack as every chemical have resistance up to a certain temperature beyond that it looses it properties. So, In the manufacture of these packs it is given high priority knowing the temperature which is optimal and preferred by people in general.
