For the titration of equal volumes of 0.10 M HCl and 0.10 M acetic acid with 0.10 M NaOH, which of the following would be the same for both titrations?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

answer : A ) .the amount of NaOH added to reach the equivalence point

explanation :

both HCl and CH3COOH are mono protic acids . they can react with base in the ration 1:1

HCl + NaOH ---------------> NaCl + H2O

CH3COOH + NaOH --------------> CH3COONa + H2O

in both cases moles of acid = moles of base

so moles = molarity x volume

molarity constant so volume is also constant for both titrations.
