* Formaldehyde is not in pure form. --> In Pure state it can easily undergo polymerization to trimer or tetramer form. --> Basically pure formaldehyde is a gas with boiling point – 19o C. --> When it stored in aqueous medium it undergo polymerization to trimer or tetramer from easily as : - --> So in case of Manichh reaction if we will use pure formaldehyde because of their polymerization ability. So reaction will not occur predominately. --> Now we will discuss the advantages of paraformaldehyde.
