Why is it important to calibrate your pipet before beginning this experiment? Give a brief explanation of the calibration process.
Pipet must be calibrated in order to ensure the volume is accurate
Calibration is required because, as time passes by, the device might get de-calibrated, dispensing less/more volume as required or shown in the display.
Then we need to calibrate via:
1) Get enough volume for clairbation
2) Measure the temprature of water/volume
3) Tare balance and add volume, i.e. mass of volume
4) Rinse /clean pipette
5) Dispense volume of water
6) measure mass of volume of water
7) measure "volume" dispensed
8) Identify density of water at such Temperature, relate via claculation to the volume which present in such amount of mass
9) compare volume claculted vs. volume of display/equipment
10) If higher/lower, then adjust pipette
