3mL of ethonal is added to a 125mL Erlenmeyer flask with a stopper

Calculate the preasure of just the air in the flask. The volume and number of moles air stays constant. Please just show how to do one calculation so I can so the rest on my own. Please and thank you.

Temp(C).      Pressure

before 3mL ethonal

22.5.             103.05

after 3mL ethanol

22.5.             107.03

26.1.              110.05

28.7               111.96

Answer #1

To calculate just the air pressure, note that air pressure before adding ethanol - which 103.05

at different temperatures you can calculate it using the relationship, P1/T1 = P2/T2

and substracting the air pressure from the total pressure given after adding 3ml ethanol at different temperatures results the pressure of just ethanol, because of the relaltionship total pressure = sum of the partial pressure of the gases.

P air P ethanol
295.5 107.03 103.05 3.98
299.1 110.05 104.3054315 5.7445685
301.7 111.96 105.212132 6.747868

Can someone verify for me that I'm doing this correctly? For data analysis, part b: All S2O32- is consumed at the end of the reaction. Therefore, the moles of S2O32- consumed can be calculated using the equation below. (moles S2O32-)consumed = Mstock x (Vstock) My instructor states "The stock sodium thiosulfate (S2O3) is 0.01M 0.01M x 0.010 L = 0.0001moles S2O3" So I did the rest of this accordingly (below), and it differs a lot from what's on this website....

Below is the background info for the lab assignment. The 4 blank boxes are the questions I would like answers too. The end point for the fine titration was 35.90 mL in the burette when the solution turned bright green again. And the coarse titration I got 35.36mL as the end point. 35.9 mL is exact in case you need that info. Thanks! Chemical Reactions Types and Their Equations Making Heat with Chemical Reactions Have you ever wondered how an instant heat pack works? A disposable heat pack works by a chemical reaction that combines iron in the package with oxygen from the air when the outer packaging is removed producing iron oxide. You have probably seen the product of this reaction in what is commonly called rust. The reaction releases heat, which allows the pack to reach a sufficient temperature that is...
