Are strong/weak acids and bases ionic or molecular?

Are strong/weak acids and bases ionic or molecular?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solutions :-

Strong bases are the metal hydroxides therefore it involved metal and non metal elements so the strong bases are the ionic. Weak bases are molecular compounds

Strong base = KOH, NaOH, Ca(OH)2, Ba(OH)2, Sr(OH)2 etc

weak base= NH3 , CH3NH2 , CH3CH2NH2 etc

Strong acids contains non metal elements so the strong acids are molecular compounds. weak acids are aslo molecular compounds.

Strong acids = HNO3 , HCl, HBr, HI, H2SO4

weak acids = HCN , CH3COOH, H2SO3, HClO etc
