Briefly explain how ion-exchange chromatography separates the metal complexes?
Obiously it is a type of chromatography in which we separate the different ions on the basis of type of charges.
In this method we use ion exchange resins (charged but insoluble in water) . If we wish to separate a cation from solution then we will use cation exchange resin which is itself negatively charged & will combine with the required cation and can easily separated . The same process will be followed for anion but the resin will be cationic in this case.
