Answer #1

Importance of LDH:

LDH (Lactate dehydrogenase )- It is a anaerobic respiration type of Enzyme. Which is imporatant for our cells Energy production activity.Almost all the organs have LDH in our body. mainly Heart, kidney &Liver have large amount of LDH.

What does it do:

function:

LDH Catalyzes The conversion of Lactate to pyruvic acid . In this reaction NADH is reductant and it Transfer a hydride ion to pyruvate & by taking proton the product Lactate and NAD+ Is formed.

The Krebs cycle is a circle. What do you think would happen if you removed one of the compounds from that circle to make an amino acid (this does happen, Alpha-ketogluterate is the basic building block for many amino acids)? The cell has a variety of other pathways that can make oxaloacetate (the final 4 carbon product in the krebs cycle) from other molecules in the cell. Why might these alternative pathways be important?

Experiment 3: The Importance of Cell Cycle Control Some environmental factors can cause genetic mutations that result in a lack of proper cell cycle control (mitosis). When this happens, the possibility for uncontrolled cell growth occurs. In some instances, uncontrolled growth can lead to tumors, which are often associated with cancer, or other biological diseases. In this experiment, you will review some of the karyotypic differences that can be observed when comparing normal, controlled cell growth and abnormal, uncontrolled cell...
