1. The two components that make up a measurement reading are

(i) numerical value ( expressed in numbers)

(ii) unit of measurement

For example : 1 kg - it gives the value of mass, here 1 is numerical value and Kg is the unit of measurement.

The significant figure of a number are digits that carry meaning contributing to its measurement resolution. This includes all digits except all leading and trailing zeros.

All non zero digits are always significant . Zero after decimal and before non zero digits and zero between two non zero digits are significant.
