Describe the thin film hydration method to produce liposomes. You can explain this process with the aid of a diagram. Identify at which step you would encapsulate hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecules during the proces

Answer #1

Liposomes - colloidal vesicular structures based on phosphor- lipid bilayers.

- in these structures an aqueous core is sorrounded by lipids arranged in a bilayer configuration.

size range - 20nm to several microns

Generally liposomes are prepared by thin film hydration method followed by extrusion. it involves making a thin lipid film in a round bottom flask by the removal of organic solvent.

After the addition and agitation of dispersion medium, heterogeneous liposomes are formed.

finally after extrusion through polycarbonate membrane, homogeneous small liposomes are obtained.

Lactose tolerance (the ability to process milk during adulthood) was actually a mutation that arose randomly during evolutionary history.
