A quantity of CO gas occupies a volume of 0.50 L at 1.5 atm and 281 K . The pressure of the gas is lowered and its temperature is raised until its volume is 2.3 L . Find the density of the CO under the new conditions.
PV = nRT
n = PV/RT
= 1.5*0.5/0.0821*281 = 0.0325 moles
mass of CO = no of moles * gram molar mass
= 0.0325*28 = 0.91g
volume = 2.3L
density = mass/volume
= 0.91/2.3 = 0.395g/L
