We were given the answers for this question but I don't know how to get to those answers.

Identify the p-block group to which X belongs:

i) X2O3

ii) XO

iii) X2O

Homework Answers

Answer #1

i) The maximum oxidation number of P-block element is equal to its group number.

X2O3.. Here, the oxidation number of X is +3.

Hence, X belongs to 3rd group.

Example: Al2O3.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

XO.. Here, the oxidation number of X is +2

Hence, X belongs to 2nd group. but 2nd group elements are s-block elements. P-block elements exibits oxidation number +2 is IVA group.

Example: .CO

Hence, X is IVA group element.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

III)

X2O.. Here, the oxidation number of X is +1

Hence, X belongs to 1st group. but 1st group elements are not P-block elements. P-block elements exibits oxidation number +1 is VIIA group.

Hence, X is VIIA group element.

Example: Cl2O

I think the answer to this question is 10, however I don't know how to get to the asnwer. Could you please explain the calculations? 30. We ran a regression to test how demand for sunglasses varies across cities at LensCrafters. We study Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver. We used dummy variables (the excluded dummy variables is Montreal) and obtained the following regression equation: Demand = 45+10(Toronto)-5(Ottawa)+5(Vancouver) Suppose we decided to exclude the variable Vancouver, as opposed to the variable...

I don't know how many times i've tried to get 2 & 3 but I keep getting them wrong Forensic scientists can determine the speed at which a rifle fires a bullet by shooting into a heavy block hanging by a wire. As the bullet embeds itself in the block, the block and embedded bullet swing up; the impact speed is determined from the maximum angle of the swing. 1) Which would make the block swing higher, a 0.204 Ruger...
