X2O3.. Here, the oxidation number of X is +3.

Hence, X belongs to 3rd group.

Example: Al2O3.

Hence, X belongs to 2nd group. but 2nd group elements are s-block elements. P-block elements exibits oxidation number +2 is IVA group.
