If 25.0 mL of seawayer has a mass of 25.895 g and contains 1.295 g of solute, what is the mass/mass percent concentration of solute in the seawater sample?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Given mass of solute = 1.295 g

Mass of seawater = 25.895 g

So mass percent = ( mass of solute/ total mass of seawater) x 100

                         = ( 1.295 / 25.895) x 100

                         = 5.0 %

mass/mass percent concentration of solute = 1.295 / 5.0 = 0.259
