What does the term electromotive force mean?
What is the definition of a volt?
What does the term cell potential mean?
How do all of these relate, I am just starting this area within my course and my teacher told me to brush up on my knowledge but I have no idea where to start. I have tried looking online but it is too complicated for me, a simple explanation and maybe some links would do the trick? Or a book recommendation?
EMF( electromotive force) is defined as the driving
force which enables current flow in a circuit.
It is also defined The energy per unit charge which gest converted
reversibly from chemical, mechanical, or other forms of energy into
electrical energy.
Volt (V)is the difference of potential that would carry one ampere of current against one ohm resistance.
The cell potential is the means of measuring the voltage between the two half cells of a battery.
V = emf - Ir. i= current and R =resistance
