The following three solutions are mixed:

172.28 mL of 0.100 M sodium sulfate

151.89 mL of 0.300 M zinc chloride

34.24 mL of 0.200M barium cyanide

What is the concentration of sulfate ions in solution? Report your answer with 4 decimals. The answer should be 0.029.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

mmoles of sodium sulfate = 172.28 x 0.100 = 17.228

total volume of solution = 172.28 + 151.89 + 34.24

                                      = 358.41 mL

concentration of sulfate = 17.228 / 358.41

concentration of sulfate ions = 0.0481 M

Note : the answer is 0.0481 M . please check your answer once. it may be wrong.
