Why is a suzuki reaction considered green?

Why is a suzuki reaction considered green?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Recall that the Suzuki reaction is a reaction which is classified as a coupling reaction.

These type of reactions are thos which use coupling partners such as a boronic acid and an organohalide catalyzed by a palladium complex

Note that this reaction si preferred mainly due to the availability of common boronic acids, mild reaction conditions, which are less toxic, by nature.

Boronic acids are less toxic and safer for the environment than organostannane and organozinc compounds.

They are pretty easy to remove the inorganic by-products from reaction mixture. Therefore, this can be disosed easily

please (TYPE) the answers 1. This week’s oxidation reaction is considered a “Green Chemistry” reaction because of its use of Ozone as the oxidizing agent. In the late 1990s, two chemists, Paul Anastas, and John Warner, co-authored a book regarding how to perform chemical transformations with non-hazardous materials. They created a list of 12 Green Chemistry Principles. Using a textbook or internet, list the 12 principles of Green Chemistry. 2.
