M1 = 0.05

V1 = ?

V2 = 10 ml

M2 = 0.02

Apply dilution law

M1*V1 = M2V2

V1 = M2/M1*V2 = 0.02*10/0.5 = 0.4 ml

Steps:

add 0.4 ml of the M = 0.05 solution.

Then, in the flask, add water until V = 10 ml

this will let th solution in M= 0.02 M

5.) How will you prepare the following solutions from 6.0 M solutions of acetic acid and ammonia? Give exact details. Assume that a 100 mL graduated cylinder are available.

M = 6

a) V = 80 ml ofM = 0.1 HAc

M1*V1 = M2*V2

V1 = M1*V2/V1 = 0.1*80/6 = 1.3333 ml
