In the titration procedure , the concentration of the analyte is calculated using the known concentration of the titrant. The equivalence point is reached when the number of moles of acid become equal to the number of moles of base. The pH indicator indicates the end point of the reaction by changing its colour.
So if the titration is complete , and the pH is neutral ( for strong acid + strong base) the products in the reaction mixture are only salt and water. But if the pH is less than 7 ( strong acid + weak base) or more than 7 ( strong base + weak acid) there may be still some amount of analyte or titrant in the mixture that didn't get consumed completely.
