1) Waylin is doing an experiment that requires an amount of solution to be dispensed by burette. In his
notebook’s data section, he records that he dispensed 7.5 mL of
solution. If you were Waylin’s TA, what
would you say to him to explain why this is worth no points? (Hint:
there are two reasons for this.)
Solution:
There can be the following reasons for which I can instruct Waylin ....that his reading was useless...
1) He may not have taken the reading of the "menicus" - level of the solution, from the burette. This would give erronous reading.....
2) He may not have rounded-up his observed reading, which would lack precision.
3) OR: .........This was improper to take the reading from this volume burette. It might be better in this case to take readings from a weight pipette.... instead, in this case/experiment.
