If a plant produces 9.31 mol of C6H12O6, how many moles of H2O are needed?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans. Ans. Balanced Reaction: 6CO2 + 6H2O ---hv---> C6H12O6 + 6O2

Stoichiometry: Formation of 1 mol glucose (C6H12O6) requires 6 moles H2O.

So,

Total moles of H2O required = 6 x Number of moles of C6H12O6 formed

                                                = 6 x 9.31 mol

                                                = 55.86 mol
