Question

What is the molarity of 150mL of a acid solution containing 4.9 g of H2SO4

What is the molarity of 150mL of a acid solution containing 4.9 g of H2SO4

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Molarity of H2SO4 = moles of H2SO4/Volume in L

Moles of H2SO4 = weight given/Molecular weight

                                = 4.9 / 98.0785

                                = 0.04995

Molarity = moles/ volume in L

                = 0.04995/ (150/1000)

                = 0.04995/.150

                = 0.333 M

Molarity of H2SO4 is 0.333M
