Synthesis is deals with formation of compound from two or more compounds. In organic synthesis various compounds are used as starting material to get expected compound.
After synthesis of compound it need not to be pure compound and the reaction mixture always contains reagents and undesired side product isolation of pure compound from other products is known as separation. Separation can be done by extraction, precipitation, re crystallization or by chromatography.
