Answer – We know ionization energy is the energy required for the removing the outer most electrons form the valance shell in the gases state called ionization energy. As we go from left to right in the periodic table then there is electronegativity increase and also ionization energy increase. From the top to bottom in the group the ionization energy decrease. So the circle the species in each of the following pairs of atoms that has the higher first ionization energy as follow –
