For elimination, when are you supposed to use H2SO4, to form a double bond, and when should you use tert butoxide group? Is there a difference between the both or can they just be used interchangeably?
H2SO4 can be used when the substance is alcohol ( must have OH group) to form olefin ( double bond).
if you have a substance which does not posses OH group but still you want double bond from that, in this case H2SO4 will not be helpful, Suppose if you have Any haides ( cl, Br, I etc) in that case if you use Tertiay butoxide base it will give you double bond.
eventually H2SO4 used in alcohols while tertiay butoxide used in halide compounds to form double bonds. You cannot use these reagents interchangeably
