The density of a certain type of plastic is 0.83 g/cm3. If a sheet of this plastic is 10.0 m long, 1.0 m wide, and 1 cm thick, what is its mass?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

density = 0.83 g / cm^3

length = 10 m = 1000 cm

width = 1 m = 100 cm

thickness = 1 cm

volume = lenght x width x thickness

            = 1000 x 100 x 1

            = 100000 cm^3

mass = density x volume

          = 0.83 x 100000

          = 83000 g

mass = 83000 g = 83 kg
