To do this and other similar exercises,you have to look (either your text book or online) the Correction Of Mercurial Barometer For Latitude. These are chart that tell you the correction factor to use depending on the lattitude, temperature, etc.
For this case in particular, I'll convert first the 756 mmHg to
in Hg:
756 mmHg * 0.03937 in/mm = 29.764 in Hg
Now, according to this, and the lattitude of 54° the correction factor to use is 0.022779814712344276 (I found this online but I cannot give links due to guidelines), so the corrected barometer reading would be:
29.764 + 0.022 = 29.786 inHg
29.786 inHg * 1 mmHg/0.03937 in = 756.57 mmHg
