A radios station's channel, such as 100.7 FM or 92.3 FM, is actually it's frequency in MHz, where 1 MHz=10^6 Hz and 1 Hz=1s^-1. Calculate the broadcast wavelength of the radio station 101.5Fm.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

frequency   = 101.5 MHz

                  = 101.5 x 10^6 Hz

wave length = speed of light / frequency

                     = (3 x 10^8 m / s ) / (101.5 x 10^6 s-1)

                     = 2.96 m

wave length = 2.96 m
