a.) Calculate the maximum percent recovery in this experiment, assuming 15 ml recrystalization solution is filtered at 10 degrees celcius.

b.) Calculate the percent recovery of the acetanilide produced in your experiment.

so 1 mL solution contains 5 mg of acetanilide.

so 15 mL of solution contains 5/1 * 15 mg of acetanilide

                             = 75 mg of acetanilide

Percent or recovery = (mass of the soluble substance / total mass initially taken) * 100

percent or recovery = 75 * 10^-3/0.497 * 100 = 15.09 %
